Strong Optimism among U.S. Business Leaders
Large "2026" text with the words "Business Optimism" underneath

J.P. MorganChase today issued its report entitled, “Business Leaders Outlook – Leaders forge ahead in 2026 – Sentiment shifts from uncertainty to proactive planning.” The report spoke to me because, at its core, it was about optimism. And, I think we can all benefit from some optimism.

The past five years, as we all know, have been “interesting.” Following the COVID hangover and the narrative (and fact) that AI will be taking jobs, I was personally delighted to read that one of our trusted financial institutions is “banking” (pun intended) on financial optimism.

Why is this important to me?

Many of the people I work with, I think, at times forget that I am more than a marketing practitioner. I am also a business owner and entrepreneur. I work on creative campaigns and strategic marketing programs for our clients, all while running a P&L statement, thinking through business growth for BOCA, hiring the right staff for our clients, and providing education for our employees—the list goes on.

Here are the top three statistics from the report, juxtaposed against BOCA’s own proof points to support this optimistic outlook.

  • 71% are optimistic about their company’s prospects at the start of this year, compared to 58% in June 2025.
    • My Experience that Supports this Statistic: We ended the year with two amazing new business wins—woo hoo!
  • 73% of the project increased revenue, compared to 50% in June 2025.
    • My Experience that Supports this Statistic: We are just at the beginning of the year, and BOCA plans for growth. I am not planning for crazy growth this year; I am planning for organized, calculated growth. As the owner of a services firm, I always need to ensure my current clients are fully supported, while we bring on new clients—a constant balancing act.
  • 48% expect to increase headcount, up from 37% in June 2025 and 51% in January 2025.
    • My Experience that Supports this Statistic: BOCA will continue down a conservative path, and I do forecast that we will be hiring. Hiring will look slightly different in 2026. How? We plan to hire across the U.S. to cover multiple time zones, as well as internationally. I have a vision of a small contingency in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and India. Talent from all over the world, as well as right here in the United States, will support our growth.

Teneo, a global CEO advisory firm, issued “Where in the World going in 2026 and Beyond,” a CEO and investor outlook survey. A major callout is that 73% of CEOs expect the global economy to improve in 2026, and more than 80% say recent pro-growth policies around technology and regulation are helping their business.

Teneo’s CEO, Paul Keary, specifically calls out optimism.

“Following record CEO and investor confidence in the wake of the U.S. elections last year, we continue to see optimism for 2026 with most expecting at least a short-term increase in hiring as well as increased M&A activity and international and domestic investment,” said Paul Keary, CEO of Teneo. “The U.S. remains the most attractive market in the world for investment, with policies – such as those around technological advancement and regulatory streamlining – creating a pro-growth environment. Companies have also become more resilient to disruption over the last few years, helping to underpin their confidence.”

As we head into 2026, confidence is rising across the B2B landscape, and I’m feeling it firsthand at BOCA Marketing Agency. Public indicators and recent business leader surveys show a clear, if gradual, turn toward optimism, with more CEOs planning to invest, hire and expand rather than hunker down.

We closed 2025 on a significantly stronger note than we started, with healthier pipelines, more strategic programs, and clients leaning back into growth-minded marketing rather than defensive cost-cutting. That momentum, combined with improving CEO sentiment and renewed appetite for innovation and M&A, gives me real optimism that 2026 will be a year where B2B brands don’t just adapt to uncertainty—they use it as a launchpad for smarter, more resilient growth.
